Ansopol COD grades are chemically modified derivatives of castor oil. They are non-ionic solubilisers created by reacting hydrogenated castor oil with ethylene oxide. These solubilisers are suitable for a variety of applications and provide both solubilizing and emulsifying capacities in many cosmetics and personal care products. They effectively solubilise perfumes, essential oils, and other oil-soluble cosmetic actives. Additionally, they serve as excellent emulsifiers in oil-water emulsion systems.
Mechanism
Modify the polarity of water to alter various properties, such as density, surface tension, viscosity, boiling point, and specific heat of the solution in different ways. Enhance the wetting of solutes by reducing the contact angle between the solute and the wetting liquid, which increases the solvation or hydration of the solutes. Additionally, solubilize insoluble particles by reducing their size to nanoscale, with or without heat application.
